The Army and Air Force Exchange service has announced the recall of two lines of tires because of a possible hazard.

According to an announcement Friday by AAFES, Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is voluntarily recalling its Lifeliner Touring SLE H- and T-rated tires sold after Sept. 1, 2006.

The release said the company had determined that some of the tires may have been produced with materials that could lead to belt separation when moisture reaches the tires’ steel belt.

Tires can be returned to AAFES facilities for free replacement.
