AAFES said Tuesday that Xbox 360 game consoles are on their way to overseas exchanges.

Army and Air Force Exchange Service spokesman Judd Anstey said that as of Friday, the consoles were being expedited from the AAFES warehouse in Atlanta to stores worldwide.

“The majority of [U.S.] stores will be in stock by … November 22,” Anstey said. “Europe, Pacific and Operation Iraqi Freedom distributions are also being expedited, but lead times will vary depending on store locations.”

AAFES was allotted 4,032 units, or 2.5 percent of available inventory. Normally, AAFES is allotted 1 percent of “available product,” Anstey said, though he did not know why the exchanges got more of such a hot product, which will sell for $399.
