8th FW’s travel, alcohol ban in effect next week
Because of a training exercise next week, members of the 8th Fighter Wing at Kunsan Air Base will be forbidden to drink alcohol or travel into Kunsan City or nearby “America Town,” officials said.
The 8th Fighter Wing imposes the drinking and travel bans each time it holds a training exercise, said wing spokesman Capt. James Lage.
The drinking ban takes effect at 7 p.m. Monday; the travel ban, 11:59 p.m. Monday.
The only exceptions to the travel restrictions will be those standing by to depart Kunsan for a permanent change of duty station, those on temporary duty, and those approved to be on leave.
In addition, also because of the exercise, U.S. servicemembers will be forbidden to order take-out or delivery food and beverages from Mulligan’s Pub and the Korean Gardens restaurant beginning at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.
