The 8th U.S. Army has completed its $70 million network upgrade at 22 installations in South Korea, officials said Friday.

The Army’s I3MP program installed high-bandwidth fiber-optic cable networks at 408 buildings on the peninsula.

Officials formally announced the program’s completion at K-16 Air Base in Seoul on Friday. The K-16 network is 100 times faster than its predecessor, said Robert Filipowski of the Regional Chief Information Office.

Upgraded locations include 2nd Infantry Division camps Casey, Hovey, Red Cloud, Stanley, Rodriguez Range and 17 other installations.
