Army investigators are “taking a hard look at” a person of interest in the death Saturday of a 38-year-old woman at Aliamanu Military Reservation in Oahu, Hawaii, according to a news release from the Army Criminal Investigation Command.

The Army did not identify the person of interest.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office this week determined that Catherine Walker had died from stabs to the neck and torso and classified the case as an “apparent homicide.”

Her husband is a soldier assigned to Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, but the Army has not disclosed his name.

Medical responders discovered Walker’s body when they arrived at her home at about 6:30 a.m.

The CID is working with the FBI on the case.

“At this point in the investigation, we do not believe there is a threat to the local community or that this was a ‘random act’ or some type of robbery,” CID spokesman Chris Grey said in the news release.

Grey said that investigators continue to pursue leads aside from the person of interest.
