RAF MILDENHALL, England — New restaurants are planning to bring fried chicken and homestyle cooking to U.S. military bases around the world.

Chick-fil-A, an Atlanta-basesd restaurant chain that specializes in chicken sandwiches, will tap into the overseas market in late 2015 when it opens a location at Kaiserslautern, Germany, according to Sgt. 1st Class Aaron Eastman, a spokesman for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service.

Eastman said AAFES is in talks with Chick-fil-A to establish more restaurants in the European and Pacific regions, but did not provide any details.

Boston Market, which markets itself as a purveyor of “home-cooked food” on its website, is currently in discussions with AAFES to open 10 restaurants on bases in the U.S., Eastman said. The chain opened its first military location in October at Fort Bliss, Texas, and opened its second on Fort Meade, Md., earlier this month, he said.
