KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — A U.S. soldier was killed in a motorcycle accident in Jurbise, Belgium, Monday morning.

Sgt. Eusibio McCoy, 24, of Hyattsville, Md., died at the scene from injuries sustained in the 9 a.m. accident, U.S. Army Europe officials said in a news release.

Another soldier was hospitalized after the accident.

McCoy was assigned to Company A, SHAPE Battalion, U.S. Army NATO Brigade. His duties included working with the International Military Police at SHAPE Headquarters in Belgium.

Army officials said in the release that the cause of the accident is being investigated by the military and Belgian authorities.

A memorial service for McCoy will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the SHAPE International Chapel.

McCoy is survived by his stepmother and stepbrother.
