The Army and Air Force Exchange Service post exchange at the Far East District Compound will close Oct. 30 due to slow business, according to FED spokesman Joe Campbell.

Sales at the FED PX dropped 77 percent in July and August, Campbell said. Sales at all AAFES PX stores in South Korea have dropped significantly since July, he said.

AAFES was unavailable Monday to comment on the sales drops.

Campbell said some popular items now sold at the PX will be sold in the American Eatery on the compound beginning in late October. An additional AAFES employee will begin working at the American Eatery this week, he said.
