Authorities are investigating the death of a soldier whose body was found Monday in his on-post quarters in Ansbach, Germany.

The soldier, with 5th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment, was found about 1 p.m., according to a U.S. Army Europe press release.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by German doctors.

The soldier’s name and age were not released, pending notification of next of kin.

The death is being investigated by U.S. officials, the release said.
