Three soldiers with 5th Battalion, 7th Air Defense Artillery were injured in an accident Saturday afternoon west of Mannheim, Germany, officials say.

The soldiers were traveling in a 5-ton truck in a convoy returning from training in Grafenwöhr, according to a news release issued by U.S. Army Europe.

They were at the interchange Frankenthaler Kreuz between Autobahn 6 and 61 at about 1 p.m. when the accident happened. No other vehicle was involved.

The injured soldiers were taken to a German hospital. The incident is under investigation by U.S. and German law enforcement officials.
