RAF Lakenheath’s fleet of F-15s will begin flying at night again, base officials announced Monday. The 60 or so aircraft will start taking to the night skies at the end of the month. Pilots from the three F-15 squadrons at Lakenheath will conduct the missions Monday through Thursday and wrap up by about 11 p.m. each night, according to a release.

The flights provide air crews opportunities to train and maintain proficiency using night-vision equipment and procedures and will continue throughout the winter season, said Lakenheath spokesman Staff Sgt. Nathan Gallahan.
