MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan — Several organizations are teaming together this month to provide free dinners and discussions in observance of National Red Ribbon Week.

The events will be held Fridays, Oct. 17 and Oct. 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lunney Youth Center, according to Sherril Light, Drug Demand Reduction Program manager.

Topics to be discussed include drug and alcohol abuse prevention; Internet and personal safety; household safety; and media awareness.

Families with children of all ages are invited to attend. To sign up, contact the Lunney Youth Center at DSN 226-3220 or the Drug Demand Reduction Program at DSN 226-6023.

National Red Ribbon Week is the last week of October. The week is marked by the wearing of a red ribbon to send the message: "Live drug-free," according to the national Students Against Destructive Decisions.
