A memorial service is planned for the 17-year-old Kubasaki High School student who was killed in a traffic accident Sunday morning, DODDS officials announced Tuesday.

The service for John Benjamin Hall will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Keystone Church of the Nazarene.

Church officials recommend people park at Camp Lester and walk to the service.

AAFES offers incentives to take on-base taxisCAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — Taking the taxi on Okinawa military bases can lead to free food and haircuts for passengers.

The Army and Air Force Exchange Service is sponsoring a rewards program in which seven receipts from rides in base taxis can be redeemed a value-meal coupon at an AAFES food facility or a free haircut at a base barbershop.

The offer is good for rides from any of the authorized on-base taxis, AAFES spokesman Master Sgt. Donovan Potter said.

Receipts can be turned in at AAFES customer service departments at Kadena Air Base, Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Torii Station and Camps Schwab, Hansen, Courtney, Foster and Kinser.

Association offering college scholarshipsSEOUL — The Dragon Hill Chapter of the Noncommissioned Officer Association is offering four $1,000 college scholarships to graduating high school seniors.

Children of any enlisted servicemember can apply.

Children of officers can apply only if they have a parent who is a member of NCOA.

According to Joseph Terry, a member of the NCOA board of directors, no one has applied for the scholarships.

The deadline is March 31.
