NAHA, Okinawa — A Marine assigned to Camp Foster was in Okinawa police custody Saturday after allegedly assaulting two police officers called to a domestic dispute.

Sgt. Aaron Charlie Sansaricq, 26, is being held on suspicion of interfering with police officers in the line of duty, an Okinawa police spokesman said Saturday.

The incident occurred about 6:45 p.m. Friday in a residential area of Naha when police responded to a call from the Marine’s estranged Japanese wife, who reported Sansaricq was fighting with her. According to the police report, the officers approached Sansaricq outside the home and he pushed them to the ground during a scuffle.

The officers sustained minor bruises, the police spokesman said. Sansaricq was arrested at the scene and was taken to the prefectural police station in Naha.

Marine officials were contacted by Stars and Stripes on Saturday evening but had no additional information.
