KADENA AIR BASE, Okinawa — The Kadena Red Cross has scheduled several free disaster preparedness training classes Monday through Thursday.
The classes are to help people interested in volunteering during a disaster, Traciee Huff of Kadena Red Cross said in a news release.
The classes are Fulfilling Our Mission from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday; Mass Care Overview from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday; Shelter Operations from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday; and Client Casework from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday.
The Fulfilling Our Mission class is a prerequisite for any other class, the release said.
Classes will be held at the Red Cross in Building 910.

Foster chapel to hold services for PurimCAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — The Jewish chapel on Camp Foster will hold services for Purim, which is Thursday and Friday, according to a release.
The Fast of Esther, which precedes Purim, will be from 5:24 a.m. to 7:03 p.m., according to the release.
Then a Purim service, including a Megila reading, will start at 7:15 Thursday in the Jewish chapel.
The Megila reading for Friday, Purim day, starts at 8 a.m. in the chapel.

Spouses’ club to mark 40th anniversaryCAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — The Marine Officers’ Spouses’ Club will mark its 40th anniversary with a luncheon Wednesday at the Butler Officers Club on Plaza Housing, according to a club release.

High school to host Spring Arts FestivalKADENA AIR BASE, Okinawa — Kadena High School has scheduled a Spring Arts Festival to start Thursday at 6 p.m. at the high school, according to a release.
The free festival will include performances from the theater, music, art and culinary art students. Participants are asked to bring a dish to share at a potluck meal.
