European briefs: AAFES fuel prices to go up next week

The Army and Air Force Exchange Service announced Thursday its fuel prices will rise next week, with diesel showing the sharpest increase.
Beginning Saturday, the price of a gallon of diesel fuel in Germany and the United Kingdom will go up 10.6 cents, rising to $3.795 and $3.733 respectively, according to an AAFES news release. In the Netherlands, diesel is going up 7 cents to $4.182 per gallon.
Most other grades will increase by about 3 cents.
The price for regular unleaded gas, sold only in Germany, is up 3.2 cents to $3.299.
For the rest of Germany, super unleaded will rise 3.4 cents to $3.414, while the price for premium is scheduled to increase by 3.2 cents to $3.523, AAFES said.
In the U.K., a gallon of super unleaded will cost $3.352, reflecting an increase of 3.4 cents. Premium is set to go up by 3.2 cents to $3.461.
Prices in the Netherlands are not rising quite as much, though all grades of fuel remain well above prices in the U.K. and Germany.
Super unleaded in the Netherlands will increase by 1.4 cents to $3.966, while premium is rising 2.8 cents to $4.273, according to the new AAFES price schedule.
The pump prices will remain in effect through next Friday.
