The wife of a soldier was pronounced dead Sunday after being found unresponsive at her Schweinfurt, Germany, home.

Katherine Cook, 21, of Rochester, N.Y., was the wife of a soldier in 1st Battalion, 77th Armor Regiment, part of the 1st Infantry Division’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team.

According to a U.S. Army Garrison news release, Cook’s husband found her unconscious and without a pulse and called for medical help.

Although 1-77 is currently serving in Iraq, the soldier is a member of the unit’s rear detachment, said Mark Heeter of the Schweinfurt public affairs office.

Heeter said that the servicemember’s name is being withheld pending further investigation.
