Rear Adm. Anthony M. Kurta has been tapped to become director for policy, resources and strategy and director of transformation activities for U.S. Naval Forces Europe based in Naples, Italy, according to a Pentagon announcement.

Kurta replaces Rear Adm. Phil Greene Jr., who has been assigned commander of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa based in Camp Lemonier, Djibouti.

Kurta currently serves as director of the Surface Warfare Officer Career Management Division, PERS 41, with Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tenn.
