SEOUL — About 20,000 people are expected to gather Wednesday near the U.S. Embassy to protest the South Korean-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, according to U.S. Forces Korea officials.
The National Action Campaign for Freedom and Democracy in Korea will meet at Seoul City Hall Plaza from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to the USFK force protection advisory.
While the event is expected to be peaceful, the U.S. military community is advised to avoid the demonstration and not use public transportation near the area from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Attempted-rape trial delayedSEOUL — The trial of two U.S. soldiers accused of attempting to rape an off-duty South Korean policewoman in a public bathroom was delayed Monday because two witnesses who were supposed to testify did not receive their summons on time.
Sgt. Anthony Q. Basel has admitted to attempting to rape the woman after a day of bar-hopping with Pfc. Mark Feldmann. Feldmann said he was outside the building where the incident allegedly occurred and trying to catch a taxi home at the time.
The woman and a restaurant manager who was in the building at the time were supposed to testify in Seoul Central District Court on Monday.
The case will reconvene June 27.
