USFK operating black market hot linePYEONGTAEK, South Korea — Witnesses to known or suspected black-marketing activity are asked to contact the Black Market Hotline at BlackmarketHotline@korea.army.mil or DSN 738-5118. The hot line is operated by U.S. Forces Korea Customs.
Black marketing is the act of reselling goods purchased in U.S. Forces Korea duty-free facilities.
Those who see someone making excessive purchases should try to obtain some of the following information: location of the incident; approximate time and date of the purchase; a description of the individual; a description of any vehicle that may be involved, including its license plate, color and model; a list of the items that appear to be involved in black marketing; a short description of the incident.
But community residents are reminded to refrain from confronting or following suspects or from grabbing their identification or ration cards.
