OKINAWA — The USS Blue Ridge, with 7th Fleet staff aboard, pulled into port at White Beach on Friday for a scheduled visit, according to a 7th Fleet news release.

The U.S. 7th Fleet Band arrived with the ship and has scheduled several performances for military and public audiences.

When the Blue Ridge departs, some Okinawa-based Marines and Seabees will join the crew for the current deployment, according to the release.

Lt. Steve Curry, a spokesman for the Blue Ridge, couldn’t say what units the embarking servicemembers were from, but he did say they will help 7th Fleet staff repair schools and buildings at future port visits.

The Blue Ridge is scheduled to be in port at White Beach for a few days, Curry said.
