STUTTGART, Germany — Two military police officers from Stuttgart have been named soldiers of the year for the 6th Area Support Group.

Spc. Eric Holtegaard won for the soldier category, and Sgt. Jarrod W. Martin won for noncommissioned officers, according to an announcement Thursday. Both are members of the 6th ASG Headquarters and Headquarters Company.

Holtegaard and Martin scored the highest in tests on their physical fitness, Army knowledge, field skills and board interview.

They will compete June 8-10 in Stuttgart for Europe region awards against soldiers from other ASGs throughout Europe.
