YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea — The Dragon Hill Lodge will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a two-day party on Friday and Saturday.
Officials will hold a 5 p.m. cake-cutting ceremony Friday in the courtyard behind the hotel, followed by a free “Taste of Dragon Hill Lodge” reception. The 2nd Infantry Division band will provide entertainment.
“We’re just saying ‘thank you’ to the community,” said Gina Park, assistant director of sales and marketing at the lodge.
Saturday’s activities begin with a 10 a.m. 3K (1.8 mile) Family Fun Walk. Participants should gather at the Point entrance and prizes will be given to children at the finish line.
Local bands, including Blue Frog, Faded and the Latin Orchestra Essencia, will play in the courtyard during the day. The 2nd ID tae kwon do team will give a demonstration and the military police will showcase their working dogs’ skills. Second ID will bring a Bradley fighting vehicle and a tank as static displays.
Active-duty military members are invited to enter a football contest. Ten names will be randomly selected from entrants and those troops will get a chance to throw a football through a target to win $5,000.
Other giveaways include a grand-prize round-trip ticket to the United States.
