The Army on Monday released the names of two Hanau-based soldiers killed in a motorcycle wreck late Friday on a highway near Büdingen, Germany.

Sgt. Dale L. Neal, 33, of Company D, 2nd Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment; and Staff Sgt. Darnell D. Wiggins, 31, of Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 565th Engineer Battalion died on impact when the Harley Davidson they were riding struck a guardrail, military police officials said.

Neal appeared to be driving too fast for conditions when he lost control of the motorcycle on a curve, said Lt. Col. Howard Malone, director of fire and emergency services for the 104th Area Support Group. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor, Malone said.

Neal was a turbine engine mechanic from Canton, Ohio. He is survived by a wife and one child, said Maj. Mike Indovina, spokesman for the 1st Armored Division. A memorial service for Neal is set for Fliegerhorst Caserne chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Wiggins was an operations sergeant and is survived by his wife and two sons, said Dennis Johnson, spokesman for the 130th Engineer Brigade. A memorial service for Wiggins is tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday in the Pioneer Caserne chapel, Johnson said.
