NAPLES, Italy — Military personnel and their family members are being sought to take part in a retail-goods pricing survey in Naples and Gaeta starting May 25.
Survey results will lead to an update of cost-of-living and move-in-housing allowances in the two communities.
Navy officials are looking for between eight and 10 volunteers from each community to attend a short training session, where they will receive lists of about a dozen items to price and an off-base location to shop.
Others will price similar goods at the exchange and commissary. Prices on about 120 goods will be surveyed in total. Volunteers will have about two weeks to complete the survey.
The last survey to adjust COLA and MIHA rates was done six years ago.
Those wanting to volunteer should send their name, rank (or spouse’s rank if a family member), command, phone number and e-mail addresses to Master Chief Petty Officer J.R. Smith at james.smith@cnre.navy.mil.
