Army and Air Force Exchange stores are raising the limit on lowest price verbal challenges from $5 to $10, according to an AAFES release.
All AAFES stores worldwide will take the customer’s word that an item can be bought for less at a local store, including Navy and Marine exchanges, and credit the customer $10 at checkout, AAFES stated. Customers are not required to show any proof of a lower local price, and no managers are needed in the process — cashiers and sales associates are able to immediately approve the reduction, AAFES noted.
The price challenge does not include refurbished goods, unauthorized dealers or warehouse clubs. Exclusions also include special orders service contracts, special order auto parts, and automotive labor and services. Mail-in rebates and other coupon offers and gasoline prices also are not included.
