CAMP LESTER, Okinawa — The U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa seeks individuals who like children and are in need of community service hours. The hospital is looking for volunteers to provide child care from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. any day of the week in the Children’s Waiting Room. Volunteers must be at least 13; CPR and first aid training and certification are available.

Nurses Week events planned on Okinawa
CAMP LESTER, Okinawa — The U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa’s Nurses Wardroom is inviting nurses islandwide to take part in any of the events they have planned for Nurses Week, which began Friday and runs through Thursday.
Every day from Monday through Thursday nursing specialty area poster presentations for the American Nurses Association theme of “Nurse — Many Roles, One Profession” will be displayed on the hospital’s quarterdeck.
A dinner is planned for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Seaside Restaurant in the Kadena Marina. Attire is casual; door prizes will be given away during the meal.
The last scheduled event is the annual cake-cutting celebration at 1 p.m. Friday in the hospital’s officer’s dining room. Door prizes will be given away at this event also.

Mother’s Day meal at Camp Foster
CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — Camps Foster and Lester families are being invited to a free meal at Foster’s Mess Hall 488 from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The meal is sponsored by the Camp Foster and Lester Association. A drawing will be held Monday for base exchange gift certificates of $100, $200 and $300; the association will notify the winners. Families with an active-duty servicemember from any branch of service who works on Camps Foster or Lester are eligible for the meal and drawing.
June Jamboree volunteers sought at Yongsan
YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea — About 75 volunteers still are needed to help with June Jamboree from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 3 at the garrison, according to event organizers.
June Jamboree is an annual event hosted to give special-needs students a day of fun and fitness, according to Alexander Carter, Army Community Service Exceptional Family Member Program coordinator.
Activities are to include bowling, swimming, games at Collier Field House and a barbecue.
According to Alexander, about 100 students and 300 volunteers traditionally participate in the event, with volunteers playing an essential role.
About 200 volunteers will manage five activity areas: registration, swimming, bowling, barbecue and fun and game activities. Another 100 “one-on-one” buddies will accompany the students throughout the day. Call DSN 738-5311 for more information.
