VICENZA, Italy — A 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry Regiment soldier pleaded guilty to multiple counts of theft in a general court-martial last month.

Pvt. Alan Corbin was charged with stealing credit cards and debit cards and using them to purchase merchandise, according to a base news release.

Corbin was reduced in rank to E-1, sentenced to two years in jail without pay and allowances, fined $1,000 and given a bad-conduct discharge.

His confinement time was reduced to 14 months by a pretrial agreement.

Vicenza soldier guilty in attempted rape

VICENZA, Italy — A soldier assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 22nd Area Support Group was found guilty of attempted rape and assault in a general court-martial last month.

A jury of four officers and four enlisted members found Sgt. David Hopkins guilty of attempted rape, assault with intent to commit rape and aggravated assault, according to a release from the base public affairs office.

Hopkins was reduced in rank to E-1 and sentenced to three years of confinement without pay and allowances and a bad-conduct discharge.
