RAF MILDENHALL, England — The 48th Munitions Squadron at RAF Lakenheath recently received the Air Force Maintenance Excellence Award, according to the base public affairs office.

The squadron managed a $279 million ammunition account in 96 facilities and deployed most of the squadron while supporting 15 operational, training and exercise deployments to nine countries.

The squadron went through several inspections with excellent ratings. It supported the Excalibur bombing competition at the base in September, earning the Top Gun Award for its efforts. It also supported the F-15 Road Show, a series of exercises and competitions, at three stateside bases.
