The Germany chapter of the educational fraternity Phi Delta Kappa has announced the names of five educators who will receive awards at the organization’s annual banquet later this month, according to a news release from the Department of Defense Dependents Schools Bavaria District.

They are:

Phi Delta Kappa Member of the Year: Jan Pepelnjak, Halvorsen-Tunner Elementary Middle School at Rhein-Main Air BaseInnovative Teacher award: Maria Del Carmen Nieto, Bamberg Elementary SchoolPhilanthropy award: Juanita Harvin, Heidelberg district service officeDistinguished Service in Public Education: David Markewitz, Kitzingen Elementary SchoolOutstanding Educator: Jeff Pellaton, Würzburg High SchoolThe awards banquet will be May 14 at Patrick Henry Village Pavilion in Heidelberg.
