WüRZBURG, Germany — A Vilseck-based 1st Infantry Division combat veteran has been charged with receiving and possessing child pornography over a three-year period, including while deployed to Iraq.

Sgt. Dean Bodoh, 27, of the 1st Battalion, 63rd Armor Regiment, was arraigned before a military judge Friday in Würzburg.

His civilian attorney, David Court, deferred pleas until a later date.

Bodoh is accused of downloading the images both during his unit’s deployment to Kirkuk, Iraq, between March 2003 and March 2004 and while he was home in Germany, said Maj. Todd Federici, chief of criminal law for the 1st ID’s staff judge advocate.

Bodoh also was charged with viewing pornography on government computers between October 2001 and March 2004, and with violating a lawful order in Iraq during February 2004.

Col. R. Peter Masterton, the military judge, tentatively set the trial for Aug. 8-10 in Vilseck.
