BAUMHOLDER, Germany — A Baumholder-based 1st Armored Division soldier was sentenced to 16 months in prison Monday.

Pvt. Steven L. Larosa, 20, of Company B, 40th Engineer (Combat) Battalion, was charged with being absent without leave, failure to report, violating a lawful order, resisting arrest, drug use and assault consummated by a battery of military police officers, according to a new release.

In a plea agreement, Larosa was found not guilty of resisting arrest and guilty of all the other charges. He was sentenced to 16 months’ confinement, forfeiture of all pay and allowances and a bad-conduct discharge.
