A soldier assigned to the 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division, based in Friedberg, Germany, died Saturday of wounds sustained in combat in Iraq’s Anbar province, military officials reported Sunday.

The soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Defense Department.
