Soldiers of the 2nd Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division have uncovered two storage bunkers filled with a variety of weapons and explosives, officials said Wednesday.

The caches were discovered in Tuz, Iraq, a town near the northern city of Kirkuk. The seized items included 400 rockets, 80 mortar rounds, 70 cases of small-arms ammunition, 100 artillery fuses and a dozen rocket-propelled grenades.

An explosive ordnance disposal team blew up the weapons on site.

The storage bunkers were found near Forward Operating Base Bernstein, west of the city, officials said.
