Kadena Panthers2015-16season record — 22-4 overall; Far East D-I champion.Head coach — Willie Ware, seventh season.Key performers — Linda Vaughan, Sr., G; Rhamsey Wyche, Jr., G (reigning D-I tournament MVP); Saj McBurrows, So., C; Isabel Tayag, Jr., F (transferred from Robert D. Edgren; All-Far East Division II).Outlook — Rebuilding. After finally solving the D-I title-game jinx, Panthers now have to overcome the loss of three more starters. But they still have the younger Wyche, McBurrows has shown improvement and Tayag has potential.

Kubasaki Dragons2015-16 season record — 10-15 overall; fifth at Far East D-I.Head coach — Steven Casner, first season.Key performers — Chloe’ Stevens, Jr., F (All-Far East in 2015, 2016); Ceara King, Jr., G; Eliana Salinas, Sr., G; Reaven East, Sr., F.Outlook — New coach Casner arrives from Incirlik, Turkey following two years at E.J. King and has faced building jobs before. Only one player returns; the rest are new or promoted from junior varsity.

Nile C. Kinnick Red Devils2015-16 season record — 15-18 overall; fourth in Far East D-I. Head coach — Mike Adair, third season.Key performers — Kailee Rucker, Sr., G; Taylor Cobb, Sr., G-F; Jade McGinnis, Jr., G-F; Venus Hill, Fr.; Dallas Carter, Fr.Outlook — Rebuilding, but a good core of veterans and the freshmen possess skill. Good chemistry and good health could mean a deep run.

Seoul American Falcons2015-16 season record — 10-11 overall; third in Far East D-I.Head coach — Dean Florio, third season.Key performers — Krista Bradley, Jr. (All-KAIAC and All-Far East in 2016; Jayla Crawford, Fr., F; Alyse Neal, Jr.; Maria Bruch, So.; Nina Furner, So.Outlook — Rebuilding. Lost six seniors and four underclass from last year’s roster; only two returners from last year.

Division II

Daegu Warriors2015-16 season record — 0-5 overall; played non-varsity schedule rest of season.Head coach — Phil Inman, first season.Key performers — Tatyana Watkins, So.; Anna Webster, So.; Asia Green, Sr.; Mylisse Spurgon, Fr.Outlook — Fourth new coach in four seasons, and Inman enters a situation similar to last year: one senior, two sophomore returners and seven freshmen. Nowhere to go but up.

E.J. King Cobras2015-16 season record — 6-20 overall; eighth in Far East D-II.Head coach — Yvonne Long, sixth season.Key performers — Zanitta Boyd, Jr., G.; Ariel Horton, Sr., F (All-Far East in 2016).Outlook — Perpetually rebuilding. Working hard, but numbers continue to be a problem.

Robert D. Edgren Eagles2015-16 season record — 9-15 overall.Head coach — Sarah Richardson, 27th season.Key performers — Coko Magby, Sr., F (All-Far East in 2015 and 2016); Karen Anaostas, Jr., F-C; Aaliyah Scott, Jr., G; Roma Alvord, Sr., C-F; Nechelle Hunter, Sr., G; Christina Taylor, Jr., C-F; Momomi Atkinson, So., G.Outlook — Reloading, possibly contending if the Eagles can stay healthy. Many returning players, but much work is still needed.

Humphreys Blackhawks2015-16 season record — 4-13 overall; seventh in Far East D-II.Head coach — Laura Corder, first season.Key performers — Sydney Wilson, Jr., F; Jayden Jones, Sr., G; Denisa Kim, Sr., G.Outlook — Still building, in the fourth season in school history. Corder is new to Humphreys, but not to basketball, having coached at Aviano, Italy, for 21 years and two in the Azores.

Matthew C. Perry Samurai2015-16 season record — 16-12 overall.Head coach — Brad Cramer, first season.Key performers — Lebet Erhart, Sr., F; Sakura Fleming, Sr., F; Devon Shuman, Sr., G; Hazel Bolduc, So.; Valerie Thomas, So.; Asia Walker, Jr., F.Outlook — Reloading. Third new coach in three seasons, solid core of returners and plenty of newcomers motivated to improve on past seasons.

Osan Cougars2015-16 season record — 6-12 overall; fourth in Far East D-II.Head coach — Sung Plourde, third season.Key performers — Natalyah Shaw, Sr., C; Haille Nugent, Sr., F; Danielle Dawson, Jr., PG; Monique Wilson, So., C; Elizabeth White, So., G; Allyson Marek, Sr., C; Jana Rafi, Jr., PG; Eliana Raspet, Sr. F.Outlook — Rebuilding. Good core of veterans and new players.

Yokota Panthers2015-16 season record — 25-2 overall; two-time defending Far East D-II champion.Head coach — James Bailey, first season.Key performers — Jamia Bailey, Jr., G (All-Far East in 2015 and 2016); Britney Bailey, Jr., C (transferred from Vicenza, Italy); Sally Lambie, Sr., F; Jordan Logue, Jr., G-F; Irene Diaz, Sr. (transferred from New Mexico), G-F; Taylor Peche, Jr., G; Brea Johnson, Jr., G (transferred from Alabama); Jaliyah Bailey, Fr., G-F.Outlook — Contending yet again for DODEA-Japan and D-II. A different type of team than the guard-oriented squad of a year ago. Britney Bailey brings size, but also athleticism, so the team will still be able to run as it has.

Zama Trojans2015-16 season record — 20-5 overall; Far East D-II runner-up for second straight season.Head coach — Aaron Wells, second season.Key performers — Ti’Ara Carroll, Sr., G (three-time All-Far East); Ally Chiarenza, Sr., G (All-Far East in 2015); Armelia Baldwin, Jr.; Faith Bryant, Jr., G; Tasia Nelson, Sr. (transferred from Virginia).Outlook — Reloading-contending. Core three of Carroll, Chiarenza and Bryant is joined by Nelson, who should fit in well.
