Gen. Walter Sharp, commander of U.S. forces in South Korea, told members of Congress that North Korea may be considering additional attacks.

"I do worry that there are additional attacks and provocations that are being considered within North Korea," Sharp said, adding that Washington needed to be prepared to respond if necessary.

Last year's sinking of the South Korean warship Cheonan and an attack on a South Korean island led to heightened tensions between the North and South.Pyongyang denies it sank the Cheonan and said it was provoked by Seoul to launching the attack on the island.Sharp voiced U.S. concerns that the attacks may be only a sign of things to come.
