As Britain and the world welcome the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s child, George, into the world, visitors to London can celebrate the prince’s arrival with an exclusive royal photography exhibit and afternoon tea offered by the luxury Athenaeum Hotel in Picadilly. On weekends through August, The Royal Child exhibit will display more than 50 rarely seen images of past royal babies while curators provide insights into how royal families have raised their children since Victorian times. Royal photographers will discuss their efforts to uncover the history behind an image of Queen Elizabeth II at age 3 or 4 building sand castles, and how the private occasion became a postcard. Tickets for the exhibition and afternoon tea cost 60 pounds (about $92) per person (including VAT). See the menu and make reservations at www.athenaeumhotel.com/royal-summer/the-royal-child.
