Leake, Jr., F (all JV move-ups); Keondre Davis, Fr., F.Outlook — Contending. Replacing the defense and scoring of Kazdan Batey and Myles Andrews “will be a tough task,” Pujol said. But the Panthers have “lots of confidence” in their veterans to step up into leadership roles. Manegan will likely be the centerpiece of this team.

Stovall is hopeful the Red Devils can continue their upward movement from the end of last season. Learning, running offense and defense well, then looking for overall improvement from game to game.

Division IISouth KoreaOsan American Cougars2010-11 season record — 19-7, fourth in Far East Division II Tournament.Coach — Geoff Starron, first season.Key returners — Jacob Ives, SF-SG; Derrick Merriwether, PG; Tom Sweeney, SF.Key newcomer — Damon Prince, PF.Outlook — Rebuilding. Team is young, but athletic, talented and capable of scoring. Question marks revolve around consistency of play and understanding the game, Starron says.

Daegu Warriors2010-11 season record — 14-11.Coach — Phillip Loyd, sixth season.Key returners — Darius Wyche, Jr., PG.; Monnie Mitchell, Jr., wing; Paul Jackson, Jr., wing.Key newcomers — Adam Locke, Sr., post; Sam Oh, Sr., post; Richard Buck, Jr., wing (transfer from Iowa).Outlook — Rebuilding. Warriors dropped off after some successful deep Division II Tournament runs, hopeful of an upswing this season. Loyd said his charges “will have to be ready to be challenge all over the floor for four straight quarters.”

JapanZama American Trojans2010-11 season record — 11-23,Coach — Parish Jones, first season.Key returners — Yoshi Nicholas, So.; Andre Encarnacion, Jr.; Michael Duncan, Sr.; David Coleman, Jr.Outlook — Rebuilding, Extreme team makeover, Jones said. “Starting with a new foundation and praying that when the time is right, it will all come together.”

E.J. King Cobras2010-11 season record — 7-23.Coach — Chad Stark, first season.Key returners — Jackson Small, So., C; DaSean Rogers, Sr., F; Kiyoshi Reynolds, Jr., G; Regan Young, So. G; Kershaun Lustre, So., F.Outlook — Rebuilding once more. Plenty of returners, but only Small and Rogers saw significant playing time. “We should improve as the year progresses and we have great team chemistry,” Stark said.

Matthew C. Perry Samurai2010-11 season record — 19-17.Coach — Dewayne Pigge’, second season.Key performers — Sam Cadavos, Jr., G; Jon Cadavos, Fr., G; James Kerr, Fr. Improved last season, but lost John Ayers to graduation and will lose two key cogs in Hale and Leggette to the PCS plane in December. The Cadavos brothers should bring firepower to the table; question being how quickly this young team will learn the game.

(JV promote); Blake Weldon, So.Outlook — Reloading-contending. Solid veteran core of players, led by Sterry and Mack, from last year’s DODDS Japan runner-up team back to make another deep run.
