Saturday summer nights at Atsugi Naval Air Facility, Japan, means music, movies and food with the “Sounds of Summer” free concert series.

The concerts, hosted by Morale, Welfare and Recreation, will feature a specific music genre at each performance.

Shows are scheduled from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Reid Field, with Club Trilogy’s Illusion Bar serving as backup in case of rain. Some facilities will sell food and beverages; all ages are welcome.

Concerts for the summer:

• June 12: “Rocking Top 40” featuring Mismo Band and contemporary rock by 21 Blades Band.

• July 17: R&B music with bands to be announced and ’80s flashbacks.

• Aug. 14: Country/Western style music; bands announced at a later date.

• Sept. 4: “Cool Jazz”; bands yet to be determined.

“Movie Under the Stars,” another series offered at the base, will feature two Disney movies in July. “Teacher’s Pet” will be shown July 9 and “Peter Pan” July 23, both on Reid Field. The movies will be canceled if it rains. Admission and popcorn are free.
