WASHINGTON — Washington Nationals manager Dusty Baker was honored by the U.S. Marine Corps Monday night before his team faced the Milwaukee Brewers on the third of five "branch days" sponsored by the Nationals during the 2017 season.

Baker, a Marine Reservist from 1968-74, is among the Marine Corps Sports Hall of Fame's 2017 inductees. In a pre-game ceremony, he was presented with a plaque and a trophy by Commandant Gen. Robert Neller and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Ronald L. Green.

Neller threw out the ceremonial first pitch, and the national anthem was performed by the "President's Own" Marine Corps Band.

The remaining branch days will honor the Coast Guard (August 7 vs. the Miami Marlins) and Air Force (Sunday, September 17 vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers). Navy Day was May 3, and the Army was in the spotlight June 12.
