OKINAWA CITY, Okinawa — Members of the U.S. military community joined thousands of Okinawans on the island last week to take part in the annual Zento Eisa Matsuri festival.

The festival, similar to the Bon odori festivals on mainland Japan, brings together many youth associations to celebrate performance art.

Throughout the weekend, spectators were treated to various drum and dance acts.
