Last week, we gave you a list of upcoming walks that we thought looked interesting. Well, thanks to William Castro and Maureen McHugh-Castro, we have two more walks to add to the list. Both involve Christmas markets. The first is Nov. 26 in Bad Münster am Stein/Ebernburg. Starting at 2 p.m., you can walk the 5-kilometer route, which includes the Christmas market. If you want to walk a bit more, you can choose the 11-kilometer route, which also takes you through the Christmas market in nearby Bad Kreuznach. The only thing better than a walk with a Christmas market is a walk with two Christmas markets!

The second walk to add to the calendar is Dec. 10 in Bockenau, Germany. Choose between 5- and 10-kilometer routes, both of which end at the Bockenau Christmas market. The start time is between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.; you must be finished by 5 p.m. The prize is a B-medal for the price of three euros.

• Thanksgiving is only two weeks away, and that means the Ramstein Roadrunner’s Turkey Trot is rapidly approaching. We hope you have cleared your morning schedule to participate in this unique volksmarch.

Starting from the Mehrzweckhalle at Am Kiefernkopf 20, start the 5- and 10- kilometer trails between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Please finish by 3 p.m. so club members can quickly clean up the hall and then enjoy their Thanksgiving meals later that afternoon. The prize is a beer stein — in limited quantities — or a B-medal scarf with an Edelweiss design.

The Roadrunners could use some help to make this a successful holiday walk. Please contact the club at Ramsteinroadrunners@yahoo.com if you can volunteer. If not, you can still bring baked goods to donate for the club to sell. Either baked or store-bought are greatly appreciated.

• Just one month to go before the annual Bastogne (Belgium) Historical Walk on Dec. 10. The Bastogne Historical Center near the Mardisson Monument is closed until June 2012 for renovation, but there are other museums in town to visit, including the new Airborne Museum Bastogne. In the nearby town of Bras, there will be a sneak preview that weekend for the new Bastogne Ardennes 44 Museum. We can’t wait for this weekend!

E-mail volksmarch information to two.walkers@yahoo.com. Mail brochures to Bob and Lorraine Huffaker, CMR 460, Box 278, APO, AE, 09752.
