• Marchers at Forstfeld, France, might want to visit the nearby town of Soufflenheim, known for its earth-colored pottery.
After walking Forstfeld’s 10-kilometer trail Sunday, walk through the shops in Soufflenheim, which display the pottery, usually painted with bold flowers, birds and butterflies.
Start the walk in Forstfeld from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. You must finish by 7 p.m. Our favorite pottery store in Soufflenheim, the Graessel pottery shop, is open Sundays 2-6 p.m. To see what this beautiful pottery looks like, visit www.poterie-graessel.com.
• For volksmarchers in the Eifel, Baumholder and Kaiserslautern, Germany, areas, the walk in Kleinich, Germany, will be convenient for you this weekend. The prize for completing this walk is a B-medal. With luck, you might be able to get one of their stuffed dogs with a scarf and stocking cap, if there are any left from last year. Make sure you visit Bernkastel-Kues after the walk to see this remarkable city.
• This weekend’s event in Zaisersweiher is a Stammtisch walk for the Stuttgart German-American Wandering Club. Look for their blue flag in the start hall.
• Thanks for fliers to William Castro and Maureen McHugh-Castro, Bob Gambert, Richard and Donna Glenn, Wayne Henry, Tim and Luchi Lynch and “Pat” and Cheryl Patterson.
