Edinburgh TattooRoyal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is a hot ticket that sells out quickly every year. The Tattoo is held in the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle and is considered one of the most spectacular international military shows in the world. The program includes drum-and-pipe bands, fireworks, dancing, displays of military maneuvers, battle re-enactment and the dramatic ending: the lament of the lone piper. The final day is Aug. 25.

Performances are at 9 p.m. on weekdays and 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Saturdays. Prices range from 23 pounds to 57 pounds.
