Do you have locks of strawberry blonde or a pleasing darker auburn tone? Redheads of all shades might want to start planning for Labor Day weekend. The city of Breda, Netherlands, invites redheads from all over the world to take part Sept. 1-2 in Redhead Days.

Since its beginning in 2007 with 527 registered participants, the event has grown to the extent that up to 5,000 redheads are expected to converge on the town this year. Organizers expect Sunday to be the biggest day on the program, when the redheads of Holland arrive in droves.

The program appears loose and relaxed, and above all offers a chance to feel among one’s own kind.

The event is free, although donations toward the organization of the event would be accepted. If you’d like to appear in the annual group photo on Sunday, you are asked to wear a green T-shirt.

The gathering is, of course, open to people with less glamorous hair colors. Get more info in English at www.roodharigen.nl.
