Bikes and millsThink Holland, and two things that immediately spring to mind are bicycles and windmills. Both will be celebrated Saturday on National Mills Day and National Cycling Day. Beer and a fun runBayreuth will celebrate its favorite drink, wheat beer, Thursday through Sunday during Maisel’s Weissbierfest. The accompanying musical program offers something for everyone, from Metallica cover bands and country classics to American oldies. Burn off some of those beer calories at Maisel’s FunRun on Sunday morning in a half or quarter marathon at 11 a.m. The festival takes place on the grounds of the brewery. Racing donkeysThe Palio del Casale takes place Sunday in Camposano, Italy, about 22 miles northeast of Naples. The program starts Saturday with a sagra, or festival, at which the star is the stuffed pig. On Sunday, there will be a series of palios, or races, of not horses but donkeys, and food stands offering regional specialties. The first round at 11 a.m. determines who will represent the region of Campania. The highlight of this event comes at 6 p.m., when riders representing 14 regions of Italy vie for the title of national champion.
