Sun, sand and the Mediterranean.

What more can one wish for if you are a swimmer, surfer, sun-worshipper or just a plain old beach bum?

The beach in Tel Aviv, Israel, has it all. It stretches more than three sandy miles from the city’s old port to the port in Old Jaffa.

From early morning to past sundown, the beach is a playground for the citizens of the city and the visitors from near and afar.

You can walk the beach at the waterline or along the promenade — or Tayelet in Hebrew — where you will be joined by bicyclists and joggers.

The Tayelet’s decorative paving makes for interesting patterns, but the visual highlight of the beach is probably above it, the hotel and apartment towers that feature very interesting architecture and give Tel Aviv a memorable skyline.
