Hamburg Harley DaysLocation: Grossmarkt, Hamburg, Germany Dates: June 22-24 Europe’s biggest inner-city event for fans of the iconic American brand offers concerts, shows, group rides and more. The ride-in bike show on June 23 is a competition to find the most beautiful custom bikes across eight categories. From 1 p.m. June 24, a motorcycle parade makes its noisy way along a 20 mile route through the city. All bikers are welcome to participate. Admission: Most events are free. Red Bull Air RaceLocation: Budapest, Hungary Dates: June 23-24 In a series of air races staged around the globe, pilots fly against the clock through a slalom course of pylons, usually set up above bodies of water. This is race number four out of a total of eight competitions in 2018. St. John’s Day celebrationsLocation: Florence, Italy Date: June 24 The feast day of Florence’s patron saint, St. John the Baptist, is celebrated with pageantry and sport. It’s also the day of the final match of Calcio Storico Fiorentino, a type of medieval ball game described as a mix of soccer, rugby and wrestling. At 4 p.m., before the match start, a historical parade winds through the city center before arriving in Piazza Santa Croce. Fireworks are shot off from Piazzale Michelangeo from 10 p.m. Admission: tickets to the game cost from 28 to 80 euros and are available at the Boxoffice Toscana at Le Murate; they are not sold online. National DayLuxembourg City, Luxembourg Dates: June 22-23 Luxembourgers celebrate their nationhood over the course of two days. Festivities get underway on the eve of the day with a changing of the guard ceremony at the Grand Ducal Palace at 4 p.m. June 22. A torchlight procession takes place in the evening, and the streets and squares of the city come alive with free concerts and DJ sessions, local specialties served from the grill and fireworks. On June 23, a military parade marches by the train station, and the traditional Te Deum takes place at the Notre-Dame Cathedral. ParkpopThe Hague, Netherlands Dates: June 22-24 This long weekend of pop music is a mixture of both free and paid-admission events. On June 22, the Grote Markt is the site of live music and parties. Parkpop Saturday Night on June 23 is a ticketed event featuring Hot Chocolate, Jason Donovan, Melanie C. and other acts. Jewish Culture FestivalKrakow, Poland Dates: June 22-July 1 The 28th edition of this festival, which has chosen “Zion” as this year’s theme, offers concerts across numerous genres, workshops in music, cooking and art, lectures and literary encounters. The “Sambation” project sees a collective of artists from Jerusalem transform an apartment in a townhouse into a huge installation, forming a temporary cultural center. Trucker and Country FestivalLocation: Interlaken, Switzerland Dates: June 22-24 The Swiss interpretation of the American way of life is a festival offering country and bluegrass music played by bands from Nashville and other parts of the U.S., line dancing, a “trucker’s mile” with more than 1,400 big rigs, Harley Davidsons, Indians and other American brands of motorcycles, a Western Village and merchandise stands. Acts appearing this year include the Bellamy Brothers, Carlene Carter and Mustang Sally. Admission: Tickets allowing entry to concerts cost 69 Swiss Francs for June 22 or 23; three-day passes go for 135 CHF. Children under 10 enter free. Entry to the Western Village only costs 10-15 CHF.
