Les Fêtes du Maitrank/ Maitrank Festival
Location: Place Leopold, Arlon, Belgium

Each year in late spring, Arlon celebrates its local aperitif, a seasonal drink typical to the region. The beverage is made of sweet woodruff flower soaked in Moselle wine to which oranges and other spices are added. In addition to sampling this distinctive tipple, visitors can enjoy folk bands and other forms of entertainment, as well as a fair on the Plaine des Manoeuvres.
The Doudou, Procession of the Car d'Or and Lumeçon
Location: Mons, Belgium
Date: May 27 (from 9:45 a.m.)
A procession these days more historical than religious in nature sets off from the Collegiate Church of St. Waltrude and meanders through the city streets until midday, when the procession of a guilded carriage, the Car d'Or, sets forth, carrying the saint’s remains. The procession, recognized as a masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, dates back to the time when an outbreak of the plague was believed to have been halted through the intervention of St. Waltrude. It is followed by the Battle of "Lumeçon," in which St. George on horseback slays a dragon.
Prague Food Festival
Location: Vyšehrad Castle Grounds, Prague, Czech Republic

Culinary excellence at affordable prices can be experienced at this festival in which top chefs from the country’s best restaurants top plates with their signature dishes.
Admission: An online ticket at a price of 450 Czech Krona includes entrance and 10 tokens for degustation. Tickets bought on the spot go for 500 Czech Koruna, about $23.
Khamoro Svetovy Romsky Festival/ World Roma Festival
Location: Various venues, Prague, Czech Republic
Dates: May 27-June 2
Contemporary and traditional Roma culture is reflected in a program of dance, theater, fashion and above all, music. A high point of the festival’s 20th anniversary edition is a concert given by the All-Star Gypsy Jazz trio at the Hybernia Theater on May 28.
Admission: Tickets to the concert begin at 350 CZK.
D-Day Landing Day Festival
Location: Caen, France and other nearby towns
Dates: May 26-June 10
Organized annually since 2007, the D-Day Festival Normandy commemorates the anniversary of the Normandy Landing on June 6, 1944, with a range of events including military fairs, reconstructions of military camps, exhibitions, guided tours and much more. From June 1-4, the International Festival of World War II Films Normandy takes place.

Location: Idar-Oberstein, Germany

More than 20 concerts in jazz subgenres including Swing, Latin, Blues, Dixieland, World music and much more await. On May 26, visitors can enjoy a course on Lindy Hop style of dancing from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. on the Schleiferplatz, followed by a Big Band concert.
Admission: The purchase of a pin helps to offset organizational costs. The pin costs 6 euros when purchased in advance and 8 euros at the location.
