Kaiserslautern’s Old Town is turning into a giant playground for the 28th Children’s Old Town Festival.
The free event runs from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday around Steinstrasse, the Wadgasserhof and the City Museum. About 30 local organizations will offer games, sports, crafts and activities for children and families.
The lineup includes obstacle courses, scooters, mini-golf, table football, face painting, glitter tattoos, creative workshops and a flea market run by children. Families can also try giant darts, a barefoot path, games and other hands-on activities.
Entertainment starts at noon and includes music, dance performances, Clown Otsch and roaming performers throughout the Old Town.
This year’s festival, held as part of Rhineland-Pfalz’s Children’s Rights Week, has the theme “Together for Tomorrow!” and focuses on children’s rights, including the right to a clean and healthy environment.
Admission and all activities are free.
